Wellness Fair Slated for 11/4

Blythedale & Kohl’s “Eat Well, Be Well” Partner with Ossining UFSD for 10th Annual Health & Wellness Fair

Hundreds of community members are set to get inspired and join the fun at a free Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, November 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm at Park School in Ossining. With something for everyone, attendees can participate in healthy eating and educational workshops, dental screenings, child safety ID programs, brain and body wellness programs, plus Zumba classes for the kids and more.

Donated winter coats and gloves will also be available to interested families.

“This event provides an opportunity for families to learn how to stay safe and healthy, while offering the public meaningful conversations about common health concerns,” said Marie Roth, Registered Dietician.for Blythedale and Kohl's Eat Well, Be Well program.

“The large variety of organizations participating in this event helps bring something of interest for everybody,” said Alyson Perriott, BS, RN, CDE for Claremont Elementary School in Ossining.

Workshops slated for Saturday include:

9:30, 10:00, 10:30, and 11:00 a.m. - Zumba for Kids

9:30 a.m. Brain Power Basics (Brain & Body of Scarsdale)

10:00 and 11:00 a.m. - Quick,Healthy Meals & Snacks (Eat Smart NY!)

10:00 and 11:30 a.m. Yoga Demonstration (Dragonfly Yoga & Meditation)

10:30 a.m. - Raising a Healthy Eater (Marie Roth, R.D., Blythedale and Kohl's Eat Well, Be Well)

Kohl's Eat Well, Be Well Program

Blythedale Children's Hospital, through the generosity of Kohl’s Department Stores, is proud to offer Blythedale and Kohl's Eat Well, Be Well, an innovative outreach program designed to bring health and nutrition education to schools throughout Westchester and Putnam counties. Through this program, Blythedale staff members teach healthy eating habits to children by providing curricula, training and educational tools to school districts throughout the area. The program provides general nutrition guidelines to students, parents and school faculty. Blythedale Children's Hospital offers experts in nutrition and health-education to speak with local parenting groups, PTAs and school personnel.
