WCBS- FM to Host Year End Spectacular

Tune in on Friday, December 16th as Scott Shannon in the Morning Hosts Annual Benefit

For the last 23 years, Scott Shannon has broadcast his final live show of the year from Blythedale Children's Hospital - a day that is a perennial favorite for our children, their families, staff and supporters. This year's event will be held on Friday, December 16th from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

This year, Scott and his team from WCBS FM 101.1 will be featuring performances by:

  • Rob Thomas (returning for his 17th consecutive year!)
  • Mark Rivera (Billy Joel's sax player)
  • Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti (America's Got Talent finalist)
  • American Idol Finalist Jax, and
  • Tim McLoone & Holiday Express

CBS2 News meteorologist John Elliott will also be on hand, broadcasting the weather live from Blythedale.

In addition to a great line up of music, the event features an online auction with a wonderful collection of items, including a VIP package to a Billy Joel concert and luxury box seating for a New York Yankees game. Visit our Online Auction Page to see the full collection.

Followers of Blythedale on Twitter and Facebook will receive up-to-the-minute updates on their favorite auction items during the four-hour broadcast, as well as photos and videos of the performers.

Last year's benefit raised nearly $85,000 for Blythedale's Child Life Program. All proceeds from this year's Holiday Spectacular will support Blythedale’s Residency Training Program - Training medical professionals of the future in pediatric pulmonology, physical medicine/rehabilitation, child psychiatry and orthopedics.
